How do I use the Acne Healing Extract?2020-04-05T19:58:26+00:00

We recommend you use cotton wool or Q-tips to apply the Acne Healing Extract directly onto acne, pimples and spots. The Acne Healing Extract is not a tonic to wash the whole face with, it should only be used directly on blemishes. We recommend you apply it three to six times per day and to shake it before use. You should apply the extract before you use the Facial Glow moisturiser in the morning. It only needs a few seconds to dry and should be left on the blemish (not washed off) before applying the Facial Glow. It is important to use the Acne Healing Extract consistently every day for a period of time. You can expect to see results after 1-3 weeks of consistent use. It doesn’t work for everyone, but we have seen thousands of results during the 10 year period that is has been a bestseller in Iceland.

No, our products are not certified organic. Anna Rósa handpicks the wild herbs in the pure wilderness of Iceland. She harvests in many places all over the country. She, of course, takes good care to harvest only in places that are far away from pollution and have not been treated with chemical fertilizers but they are not certified organic. That would simple be an impossible task considering the variety of places from which she picks the herbs.

Our moisturisers and ointments have a shelf life of 2 years from production and we guarantee a minimum shelf life of 6 months after opening. We produce small batches frequently, so in most cases you will receive an extremely fresh product. Moisturisers and ointments keep well at room temperature and do not need to be kept in a refrigerator. The Acne Healing Extract has a shelf life of 5 years, keeps well at room temperature and we guarantee a minimum shelf life of 1 year after opening.

Currently Anna Rósa Skincare Collection is only available from this online shop. We do not sell to retail shops outside of Iceland and currently we have no plans to do so.

Are your products vegan and cruelty-free?2020-04-05T19:40:56+00:00

Yes, all the moisturisers and the Acne Healing Extract are vegan. Bliss Healing Balm is the only exception since it contains organically certified beeswax, which is a byproduct of bees. The beeswax we use is cruelty-free. We most certainly don’t test our products on animals and never will. They have, however been tested on thousands of Icelanders (plus all our friends and family) for the last 10 years with excellent results.

No, we don’t currently offer any samples. We are a small company with limited resources and at the moment it is not feasible for us to offer samples. However we do hope to offer them in the future, it is definitely one of the goals we are working towards.

Yes, all our moisturisers, ointment and Acne Healing Extract are perfectly safe to use during pregnancy and nursing. In fact, our popular Bliss Healing Balm is used to prevent stretch marks in pregnancy and is also excellent for sore nipples and vaginal yeast infections! Additionally it is very effective for diaper rash so you definitely want to keep it around for both pregnancy and nursing!

We use almond oil in the Pure Hand Care so those with an allergy to almonds need to avoid that product. We don’t use peanut oil at all in our manufacturing facilities. We do use shea butter in all our moisturisers and balm. Shea butter is derived from the Shea tree nut, but it is not known to cause any allergies according to scientific investigations. All our products have detailed descriptions of ingredients on the packaging and online.

No, we don’t use any chemical fragrance or perfume in our products and we never will! We do use small amounts of natural and organic essential oils in our moisturisers and balm. We don’t use any isolated ingredients from essential oils in our products, the essential oils we use are always in their most natural form. The Acne Healing Extract does not contain essential oils. We use the essential oils for both the pleasant smell, but more importantly, for their medicinal purposes.

No, none of our products contain sunscreen and we don’t have any plans for using it. However, many customers have let us know that both the Divine Radiance and Facial Glow have acted to protect the skin from the sun. We do not recommend that you try this out in strong sunshine for any length of time, bear in mind that the majority of our customers live in Iceland where there is not a lot of strong sunshine!

Anna Rósa handpicks all the wild Icelandic herbs used in our skincare collection. We source other material from trusted suppliers that we have had a strong relationship with for many years. We buy almost all ingredients either organically certified or wildcrafted. Do your products contain preservatives?2020-04-05T20:10:01+00:00

Yes they do. The Bliss Healing Balm contains certified organic non-GMO Vitamin E as the only preservative. The Acne Healing Extract contains ethanol which acts as a preservative. Our moisturisers, which contain both oil and water, need a safe preservative to effectively inhibit the growth of mould, fungi, bacteria and yeast. We use a formula that the Soil Association, UK’s leading organic certifier allows in certified organic products. The formula includes a mixture of Benzyl Alcohol, Phenoxyethanol, Potassium sorbate and Vitamin E. All the ingredients in this mixture rate low on EWG (Environmental Working Group) Skin Deep hazard score for cosmetics. We uses less of the preservative mixture than recommended in our moisturisers since various herbs also act as preservatives.

We do not use any ingredients containing gluten but we are not a certified gluten-free facility. Our moisturisers and balm contain certified organic Vitamin E oil which is derived from non-GMO soy sources.

We will offer you a refund on unopened products returned to us within 30 days of an order arriving, provided they are in their original re-saleable condition. We can only refund non-used products with an unbroken seal. We only offer refunds for purchases made through our online store: annarosaskincare.com. We are very sorry, but we do not allow returns on products that have been used. We are a small company and we don’t have the same resources as the bigger companies when it comes to returning goods.

The price we show on our website is excluding any VAT or custom charges at the time of checkout. We deliver our products worldwide with the Icelandic Postal Service. Delivery depends on the country, usually it takes 3-10 days within Europe and North America, but it takes longer for countries further away, commonly 2-4 weeks. We can highly recommend using the Bliss Healing Balm for preventing stretch marks and vaginal infection, which are pretty common during pregnancy. Once breastfeeding starts, the balm is excellent for sore and cracked nipples, for diaper rash and any dry patches on the baby’s skin. The Divine Healing Cream gives powerful hydration and is perfect for the whole body, both for the expectant mom, new mom and baby!
